Here we have been worried about various unmanned aircraft being mistaken for UFOs - perhaps we should be worried about what terrestrial users of these aircraft are doing with them. Check out the video on this link regarding a rather disturbing test of a UAV conducted for the benefit of the Houston Police Department:

I think this TV station is probably a little over-the-top with it's angle on this story but you really do have to wonder just what all can be done with these unmanned drones. Who's to say that a bored police officer might navigate the plane over the local swimming pool or your backyard hot-tub. Maybe this is something we need to keep an eye on in our local communities.

It's just another example of loss of privacy and freedoms as we march towards Big Brother.

I can think of any number of perfectly legitimate law enforcement uses for such aircraft but, like any technological advance, there is a real possibility of abuse. It's just like that recently-announced security device that provides near-photo quality images of what people have under their clothes. Yes, it would pick up explosives and other contraband but the potential for illicit "entertainment" is undeniable.

Seems to me the world is getting more twisted and more intrusive - and at a pace we simple won't be able to keep up with.
