A site by Nick Redfern detailing sightings and folklore attesting to a British version of Big Foot. It's nice we Brits can muscle in on this area and I love the historical aspect involved, especially the randy Woodwose, abducting maidens, and bearing a name straight out of Tolkein land.

Well, we certainly don't want to hog all the Bigfoot fun here in the States.
I wonder if there is any references to this in Druid or even from early Roman writings - that would certainly be interesting to see if there were any documented references to the beast from those early days. We have oral traditions of the American Indians but it's always hard to tell how much these have changed and how much they have been influenced by the modern era - simply because the origins were never written down.

| Oh Puulleease! ( emphasis on please intended ). We Brits like America so much that we have to copy them. A Bigfoot in Britain??? That's even less likely than Bigfoot in the States, or the Yeti in the Himalayas. I don't think that this story will go far. There have never been stories about this creature in this country.

I heard that a Bigfoot was sighted the other day in England's National Forest, Staffordshire.
It was described as big ,hairy, with bad teeth, and wearing dark horn rimmed glasses.

ow ,now, enough with the bitchiness and at least his weight/height ratio was in proportion. In fact sightings of Bigfoot in a place where there isn't enough wild places to adequately conceal a living animal indefinately would be indiciative that the theories of Vallee and Keel could have some veracity.
There were older accounts in British folklore, as in the previously mentioned Wodewose or Wudwussa although he can sometimes be more of a human living wild than a different species of hominid.

Road,
You should read Daimonic Reality by Patrick Harpur ( a Brit btw); it goes into the ideas that these things are manifestations from some unknown realm or dimension along the ideas of Keel and Vallee. It's a very fascinating book.

I have it on good authority that they steal Gideon Bibles from motel rooms and burn them.

Hey maybe there just as confused and p***ed off by us as we are by them. Let's not lay all the blame at their (big) feet. Just because they're interdimensional doesn't make them bad people.

If they do indeed exist, it certainly appears that Bigfoot are not permanent fixtures in this dimension. But, if they are popping in an out of some dimensional portal, why doesn't anyone else ever stumble through these things? Wouldn't you think that some hunter, following what he thought was a game trail, would have made the trans-dimensional trip?
I guess the question would be - what is this alleged other dimension like? Judging from how comfortable Bigfoot seem to be in our woodlands, you have to assume that their home isn't much different. That might lead one to believe that a hunter could slip in and out of the other dimension and, perhaps, not be aware of it.
