Wasn't sure where to put this....btw...this is TheScamDetective on my computer now. Another strange thing happened tonight.
I was standing at the stove, heating up some soup and suddenly the earring in my right ear FLEW off and hit the wall and bounced onto the stovetop!!!
I have pierced ears and always wear earrings. What is even stranger is that I didn't feel anything, just heard something hit the wall and then the noise it made when it landed on the stove. I have a countertop stove with just the wall behind it. When I saw it was my earring lying there, I reached up and the back of the earring was still pressed against my earlobe!!! That earring had just SHOT out with enough force to hit the wall !!!
I actually got out my tape measure and measured the trajectory distance (earlobe to wall) from where I was standing and it is approximately 33 inches. The earring traveled with enough force to hit the wall hard enough to bounce back onto the surface of the stove.
I have NO idea what caused it. It really creeped me out though!!!
Anyone have any ideas how this could have happened.... ummmm normally???? I'm baffled.

ScamDee.
Hello; glad you have got a new computer, is it a brand new one or second hand? I remember that you said in the past that you had problems with links, is that still the case or has your new machine solved the problem? As for your kitchen antics, well the skeptics would want you to answer this scientifically and that means considering fits, of which there are several kinds. A fit could mean that you blacked out and threw the earing yourself. Now lets move on to consider other possiblities, the next scenario concerns electromagnetic fields, a large field could affect your mind and produce the reported effect. Did an alien spacecraft fly over your house? Maybe; who can say for sure! I do not think that you had a fit, I judge this from your description. _________________ Keep watching the skies.

Philip
I have had this computer for a few years but my monitor bit the dust and I finally got a new one. I had been using my webtv which is very limited on the internet. I am also having problems installing msn and right now I am having to connect manually. I need to do another msn install.

If an alen craft flew over my house, I was not aware of it. This is the second unusual thing that has happened in this apartment.....I think I posted the other one on the paranormal board.
I do not have "fits" nor blackouts. It happened suddenly and nothing else strange occured right before or after.

Scam - If I remember my earring engineering correctly, the back of an earring acts as kind of a spring that holds the earring in place by tension. I suppose that if the Earring post were not completely inserted through the back, there is the possibility that it could reach some critical point at which the back would eject the post. That being said, I cannot image it having sufficient force to propel an earring nearly three feet.
How about the stove area? Was there a microwave nearby that was in operation at the time of the incident? Not sure what that might mean if there was, but microwaves and metal don't get along very well.
One last thought - you didn't get those earrings at the KGB gift shop in Moscow, did you?

Skep
The earrings are the post style...ask Mrs. Skep to explain that...and they are just small hearts that lie flat...not danglies. The back of the earring pushes onto a post.
My microwave was not in use at the time. I was just standing there warming up some soup at the time.
lol I don't remember where I got these particular earrings but it definitely was not in Moscow!!!
I have had earring work themselves free and FALL off but never have they SHOT out with such force as this one did. Also puzzling is the fact that the back of the earring was still pressed against the back of my earlobe.
