2012..The End?

The end is coming in 2012...another take on the Mayan calendar date.
This is from some Norwegian man who claims he knows something is going on with his govt and others.

Doc - this actually gets mentioned in another thread in the UFO forum. I am pretty sure that Project Camelot is the work of the same guys who brought us Project SERPO. When people stopped paying attention to them, they started Camelot to recharge some interest. I am sorry but I just can't believe that any self-respecting Norwegian politician would choose Project Camelot as their first step in trying to save the world. All they have to do is look at the Ron Paul presidential campaign to tell them that fringe elements just don't buy you a lot of street cred.

I didn't know someone had mentioned this elsewhere...but it is more doom and gloom stuff.
I don't think Paul is actually fringe. His ideas closely mirror many in the old days of true conservatism., but it is seen as out there in todays political arena.

Actually, I think Paul makes a lot of sense on some issues too. I'm just saying that the support he's received from fringe groups probably hasn't done much for his appeal in the mainstream. Personally, I wish he'd hit the national stage in 1996. At the risk of sounding ageist, I think he's a little too old now for the Presidency.

Getting back into the 2012 thing....there was a documentary on the History channel the other night detailing this shift in our path through the galactic center which some claim will affect conditions on earth. I guess time will tell yet I have read nothing from mainstream science on this impending astronomical affect.

I guess this is part of what gets me about the global warming storm troopers who are so convinced that man is responsible for climate change. When you consider that a passage through the galactic plane might have some effect on our solar system and Earth in particular, it really points out how little we know about our place in the greater Universe. I've even heard recently that astronomers are somewhat concerned over the possibility of a star in our neck of the woods going nova. No telling what a radiation burst of that magnitude would do. I'm betting it wouldn't do much good for Carol's marigolds. Shocked

when 2012 comes and goes and it will those that are making a big deal of a Mayan calender will say they got the dates wrong.Phooey,Im planting fruit trees anyway.

Carol - I'll go on the record right now and say that some good things and some bad things will happen in 2012 - regardless of what the Mayans or Nostradamus have to say. Do you remember all of the books and articles that came out a number of years ago warning of dire calamity when all the planets in our solar system aligned? Well, somehow we all managed to survive that one. I suspect chances are equally good that we will survive 2012 too.
