| But that's hardly the same thing as saying that our 'repressed' thoughts may take on an independent existence of their own, then turn into a bunch of aliens and come and abduct us. |
It's just a thought Gray. I was only supposing.... don't be afraid...LOL
I'm of the belief that you can indeed be terrorized by subconscious entities breaking through into the conscious world. I'm guessing schizophrenia's manifest in this way. They are very real to the beholder, are doing damage to him and OTHERS by him who they manifest in, in the 3D world. Modern psychology convinces us to own the beasts and then control them by ownership. They don't like that very much and they tend to resist or hide at first. Finally when there are no mental closets left to hide in, one puts them in chains so to speak and they just dissolve back into the Hades where they belong.
Hold that thought... I hear something moving around in the other room.. I'm alone, I better go check it out..... _________________ SOMNIUM MENS est IANUA ut INFINITIO

If "subconscious entities" really exist, doesn't it seem more plausible that they would simply create the illusion that they existed in the 'real world' rather than actually being able to assume physical form?
(Unless of course, you take the view that the 'real world' only exists within the mind of God (or the Red King, if you prefer), and that aliens originate from his subconscious.) _________________ Gef - the Eighth Wonder of the World

Well, I'm convinced subconscious entities exist.. However my thoughts about the realm they exist in, enters upon these entities overlapping from another physical dimension and vs/vs.. our subconscious crosses into theirs. We share the pool at the bottom. Think of a pool that is divided by a wall, open slightly only at the very bottom. Consciousness resides only at the surface level and above the water line. Subconscious, underwater and below. If you dive deep enough into the subconscious realm you can sneak under the wall for a time and experience that 'other' dimension and those entities. I suspect if you surface on the 'other' side you will not easily return to this side with the same construct of reality. _________________ SOMNIUM MENS est IANUA ut INFINITIO

I have a bit of a problem with the term 'subconscious entities' though granted other terms are just as nebulous.
I prefer metaterrestrials or ultraterrestrials since it can explain their existence as independent beings but at the same time we can postulate some connection to human consciousness as a means to explain their 'closeness' or 'kinship' to us. I also like Harpur's term 'daimons' from the Greek word indicating a personal spirit guide or connected entities to humans.
Both Harpur and Keel believe these entities have an indetendent existence but they are intimately connected to human thought and ideas via our connection to deeper levels of quantum reality as postulated by some physicists who say our decisions and actions co-create reality from moment to moment by 'closing the quantum wave' so an actual event takes place that becomes part of our reality then. In essence we are them and they are us yet we are not the same.

How does Quantum Physics, describe ANY psychologically manifested entity? I agree with Stenger in that mixing the two, results in a disastrous error. The entities we are examining are within us but can be influenced externally. _________________ SOMNIUM MENS est IANUA ut INFINITIO
