Parental issues... Have you not got the hint over the last 50 years? Government and military alike have assumed the social status of guardian, parent, protector and provider, (as well as disciplinarian.) The bedroom is always secret and taboo for the children...

Ya..it used to be government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Or was it ever...?
Jefferson said that when the govt becomes intolerable and abusive it's the people's duty to rise up in revolt. I guess the sheeple are happy with their McDonald's and Honda's and can't be bothered with truth anymore.

Fear. They know that if they say that they have known about UFOs for as long as they have, it could cause them to be overthrown and a new government put in place. There is also the people who will think of aliens as the stuff Hollywood makes them out to be and cause panics and riots in the world. Religion would also be shattered, as most of them go on the belief that we humans are along and God didn't create any other life. I don't think the government wants any of this.

Some religions, I think will, be unaffected. Which ones, I am sure I don't know, I am no expert on Religion.
However, I was brought up to believe that Religion teaches us that God only created humans and the life we see on Earth and that he didn't create life anywhere else. People who believe that and have always believed that will have their faith shattered when UFOs are proven real. People would begin to distrust the churches of different religions and that over time would hurt them, and possible destory that religion(s). The Holy Bible is very cryptic for me, I can't understand half of what it try's to tell me.
My belief in God will always stand strong, but I believe he created other life and just didn't tell us or it was hidden from us.
This is just what I think though.

Wouldn't it be terrible if ET's turned out to be missionaries? We've got enough religious zealots of our own without needing a bunch of reptile-heads telling us that XXTABIX is the one true god.

Not necessarily. Read the Old Testament...god commanded a lot of killing and barbaric acts!!!
Better to hope a "space god" would simply show us how we evolved all on our own!!

LOL Scam.... Hey Doc Wu, have you ever noticed that there seems to be an ever widening gap between laymen and advanced highly technical disciplines? Are these doctors and scientists and technicians becoming our "aliens" on earth among us? Quite frankly I don't see how a pimple faced kid in high school with nothing on his mind more than his penis and popcorn, can come through a 4 year college and some lab training and be able to quantify genetic code subroutines that predict how a species evolved. THEY MUST ALL RECEIVE IMPLANTS FROM ALIENS!!!!
