Hey! You gotta love the puns in that header...

Yup - the Konformist has given that intrepid web radio DJ of all things psychedelic and UFOlogical - Adam Gorightly - a run down of his research that claims Greg Bishop [blogging-buddy of Nick Redfern @ h**p://ufomystic.com] is a fully paid up C.I.A. agent working as a covert, CO-INtel, web entity.

Here's the release:

Quote:
Greg Bishop–OUTED!!!
Friday, October 26, 2007

h**p://robalini.blogspot.com/
Greg Bishop, CIA Disinformation Agent

The Konformist has just received indisputable evidence that Greg Bishop, a former Konformist Kontributing Editor and the winner of a Project Censored prize for his work with the magazine, is in fact a CIA disinformation agent planted within the paranormal community to control the terms of debate among topics such as UFOlogy.

According to the documents, Bishop, whose code name was “H44B-DAY” by the agency, received hundreds of thousands of dollars for his work. His work has led to CIA spin to be inserted within the paranormal community, and apparently the death of at least seven individuals who “knew too much.”

Because of these revelations, we advise all Konformist readers to boycott all his work, which now includes numerous books. After all, why pay for something when it’s already being financed by the US government?

Guess we sit and wait for Greg to come to the dock... if Bill Moore's career path post-disclosure/admitting is anything to go by - no-one will sit by Greg at any UFO events any more. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Yup - this is about his blog partner Greg Bishop who wrote a decent book about Paul Benewitz who was hit by Rick Doty and other AFOSI types. Nick R has some interesting stuff to say... I'll stick up for him to a point as he originates from Birmingham in England like me except now he's moved to the USA - probably Birmingham Alabama - that'd be a weird mix of accents Razz

Anyway, I'm waffling - I think you mean his book on Roswell called Bodysnatchers? The full title slips me at the moment. This was the idea that Roswell was all cover for the use of mini-Japanese pilots after WWII. They were put up in a new flying wing type aircraft and it crashed... hence the bodies !! Yeah - strange version of events and for me it just doesn't fit. For one the Roswell mortician and nurse would know a true 'human' form compared to a HUMANOID form I reckon.

What revelations? Which seven individuals? So far there are just wild allegations that are not backed up by a shred of actual documentary evidence. Perhaps we should wait to see if there's any substance to them before we perpetuate them. I suppose it didn't occur to any of you to actually visit Greg Bishop's blog and ask him directly?

As for Nick Redfern, he strikes me as being one of the few sane people in Ufology. He's certainly one of the most polite. We could do with more of his kind and fewer ranting proselytisers.

Woooha! Take a deep breath. Arrow

Your sense of humour module got left in the off position this morning. I wrote a brief, ironic, tongue in cheek paragraph introducing this news and made exactly that point by doing it that way. No-one know anything about this in any depth, he only got "outed" a day ago! You've treated it seriously and thus contributed to making it "into" something by spouting on in that parental tone. Mad

The Konformist [it was he who started this] has actually done some fine research in the wider UFO community and if you'd read a little more you'd see that they claim to have more evidence on their site about GB's supposed spook connection.

And if you'd bothered to read the article on Adam's site you'd have seen that he [knowing GB pretty well apparently]] said he has approached him for a response and heard nothing back.

Heheh - ok - but no-one had said anything against Nick Redfern... you seem to be reading stuff into this that's bringing out other stuff swirling around your mind to do with this comical scene of ours - but that's OK.

Still I agree about the amount of same people in U-Fool-ology - most are well up their own alien-probe-holes.

I've read very little by Bishop but it wouldn't surprise me if he was on their payroll.....it's been said for years that disinfo agents have beeen in the ufo community from the beginning. Read Revelations by Dr Vallee for some interesting stories and disinfo tricks.

Still no evidence then, I take it? Never mind. Lets all go on talking about nothing, shall we? In related news, I hear that someone on a blog somewhere has said that George Bush is actually an agent of the great god Cthulhu who will soon arise from the watery depths to devour us all. Should I run for the hills?

I've read a number of Greg's blog entries over on UFO Mystic and, if he's on the CIA's payroll, I highly doubt they're getting their money's worth. Seems more likely to me that this whole CIA gambit is the work of some arrested imagination. There are a lot of folks out there in UFO-land who get their feelings hurt and, in typical junior high fashion, set about to wreak their revenge. I hardly think Greg is losing any sleep over this.

Surely the CIA has better things to do with their unmarked money than to waste it on UFO enthusiasts. If not, I could sure use an extra 5k right about now! Wink

I have no idea if Mr Bishop is a disinfo agent but there is no doubt people like Doty and Moore were in the past (by their own admission) and probably there were many others over the years who infiltrated various groups or at least kept tabs on them.

Given the amount of people asking "Greg who?" I'd say he can't be very good at controlling the dialog in ufology.

And this is just the point when situations like this crop up - as I said, just how much useful info/control can alphabet agencies get by having someone like Greg in a paid position?! You can kind of see it with the whole Bill Moore / Paul Bennewitz situation but Greg, as good as a lot of his writing/articles are, is just another net-head who writes a daily blog.

This is why this episode is pretty suspect and bizarre. I'm off to see if there has been any updates. I suggest people tune in to Adam Gorightly for the real deal on things - I've always liked Adam's take on stuph.
