Ganging Up.

Certain people are ganging up together to attack individuals like myself, names such as Carol nistri, Ataraxik and Dr wu23 spring to mind. This turns things into a gang fight instead of a one to one confrontation and is a form of bullying. It is difficult to know what to do, obviously these people have become pals, all that I can say is if there is any sign of a gang forming then until anyone can think of anything better to say, I say to that gang f-ck OOOOfff.

I can vouch for Carol and Dr Wu. They are both good people whom I have known for quite a while now.
They are not bullys and they do not ridicule posters.
We all come from differing backgrounds...differing levels of education...differing experiences (or lack of them) and we all have our own points of view.
No matter what we believe,
we learn and grow from those who question our views. If we all agreed with each other on everything..there would be no need for this message board!!!
I have had my fair share (and then some) of being hauled on the carpet for my beliefs and I have taken a few blows to the chin too....we all have.
Do as I do and just ignore anyone who ridicules you and just direct your comments to those who challenge you instead.

You are certainly free to see it that way if you so wish.
But ridicule is to make fun of and put down so as to try to make you look foolish.
Challenge is to make you take a harder look at yourself and your beliefs and then defend them or refine them.

Chill out ....you are way off base here. Being challenged is not the same as ridicule. Perhaps you might want to look for another board where everyone agrees with you if that's easier for you.

By your definitions a clever play on words which enables you to attack someone to any extent and then say you did not mean it that way, I hope I will always react to that situation. Dr wu23 quick to ask me to leave!

Maybe it's the summer heat but everyone sure seems to be a little on edge lately. I'm hoping that, when the weather finally breaks, people will be less sensitive and less cranky. For those folks who have experiences to relate, you have to understand that people want to know more. They are asking questions not because they believe or don't believe you - they are simply trying to learn. As an experiencer, it is really part of your duty to the rest of humanity to answer our questions to the best of your ability and help us understand. On the flipside, I do not think that it is incumbent on those doubters out there to pounce on every loose thread. If a story has holes in it, the truth will become obvious soon enough. In the meantime, we all learn a little about psychology, communication, diplomacy and compassion.

There's been enough bad blood over the last sixty years to make us all a little gun shy. Can we take a little more care with one another and try to undo some of the damage?

PS: Another day in the upper 90s today in Cincinnati. Everything is fried to a cinder. Weather is due to break this weekend but it's too late for local farmers. Now I know why farmers pay out big bucks for crop insurance. It's a total loss.

same here Skep,its so dry you could spit cotton,but this weekend were in for a soaker Sun on into Mon.ahhh.

It's generally 5 degrees F cooler here on the Banks than on the mainland, but still a hot summer that will not die.
