Confirmation of my sighting

Postby Skeptical on Wed Jun 03, 2009 8:32 am

I've told a number of you here at D47 about the daylight disk sighting I had as a teenager. Thanks to Facebook, I recently hooked up with the childhood friend who was standing next to me when the sighting occurred. I asked him and was relieved to know that he remembered the incident very well and agreed that we saw something unusual that summer afternoon, 40 years ago.

Oddly enough, my friend has been very active in ghost hunting. He described to me a recent investigation he did at an abandoned graveyard in Northeast Ohio. He is still culling through the evidence but has already found some rather disturbing EVPs. I'm planning to get together with him to trade war stories this summer.

I found it interesting that, despite growing up and spending our adult lives separated by many miles, that my friend and I both ended up with an active and enduring interest in esoteric phenomena.

Skep,
How close were you to the daylight disc..? And was it a classic silver saucer?

It was a classic silver saucer, Doc. Looked like a nickel held at arm's length. It was a long time ago but I estimate it couldn't have been more than a couple thousand feet up. We saw it disappear into one side of a summertime cumulus cloud and fly out the other - so it was a definite, physical object.

We probably didn't have it in sight for more than 15 seconds or so but, even as a kid, I remember thinking how graceful and majestic it looked as it flew (ok, maybe I used the word "cool" at the time but the feeling was the same. ;) ).

Did anyone else see it in your area and were there reports of ufos that day or week?
What month, year, day, and time was it?

Skep,

I must admit: If I have ever read about your teenage-sighting, I have forgotten it. Please don't take it personally, but I have even almost forgotten about my own sighting in Brazil must be about 25 years ago, and I can recall it in pictueres.

Maybe be the "Okham's razor" in me was at work. .... though he is not authorized.
