|
|
Two teens set a kitten on fire in a cage on June 21 in Santa Rosa, CA.(The girls are pleading NOT GUILTY!!! The father of one of the girls said she did not do it, but originally said so to avoid retaliation from some boy "gang members.")
Currently the D.A. Stephan Passalacqua is working towards a felony charge, however with the plea bargaining that takes place often in juvenile cases, it may be dropped down to a *misdemeanor*, or the girls could get off all together!

According to the PETA web site: "Acts of cruelty to animals are not mere indications of a minor personality flaw in the abuser; they are symptomatic of a deep mental disturbance. Research in psychology and criminology shows that people who commit acts of cruelty to animals don't stop there as many of them move on to their fellow humans."
The Forgotten Felines of Sonoma County have been deeply involved in this case:

Please sign this petition pleading that the most severe punishment be given to the criminals, despite their age. Forward any additional comments to the Santa Rosa District Attorney, Stephan Passalacqua:

The court won't consider petitions, and certainly not online petitions (no provenance).
While the act was abominable, PETA is hardly the organization to cry foul. PETA members just got convicted in NE North Carolina for picking up animals at various shelters, promising shelter staff they'd find good homes for them, and instead driving them down the road a few miles, killing them by plastic bag suffocation, drug injection, and worse means, then dumping their bodies in dumpsters here and there. Convicted.
By all means, support the poor kittens of the world, but don't trust PETA:
