Just finished watching this video, and it is an interesting 40 minutes long. You all know that I am an atheist, so this makes it even more likely to me that our ancestors worshipped aliens. Watch, and then decide:

Being an atheist and believing in possible alien intervention have no real connection to one another. One can also be a theist and still believe in alien intervention ; neither are mutually exclusive imo.
For example Sitchin postulates and believes in the alien Annunaki intervention but also believs in God from his Jewish heritage.
But it certainly is possible that some of the Biblical events were misinterpretation of ufo/alien visitation which is what you are referring to though they could also be simply myth. _________________ "Some say the valley has always been haunted ever since River ran.

I always thought the New Testament story of the Transfiguration of Christ could easily be construed as a UFO incident. Here's the eyewitness testimony courtesy of Matthew:
"It happened about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Peter, John, and James, and went up onto the mountain to pray. As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling. Behold, two men were talking with him, who were Moses and Elijah, who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.
Now Peter and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him. It happened, as they were parting from him, that Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let's make three tents: one for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah," not knowing what he said.
While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud. A voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him!" When the voice came, Jesus was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen."
The story appears in the Gospels of Mark, Luke and Matthew. In the other versions, Jesus specifically tells the Apostles to say nothing about the incident - probably for national security reasons.

There are many strange 'contact' tales in the Bible as well as other 'religious texts' from other cultures stretching over history.
Should we automatically assume they are alien visits? No. They could be mythic in nature and /or hallucnination from drugs or other causes.
Personally I don't think they can all be explained that way and I do think some are genuine experiences of an unknown nature.
But what exactly is the unknown? Is it space visitors , interdimensional visitors, supernatural beings, projections from human consciousness via the quantum matrix (similar to Keels ultraterrestrials and Harpur's daimons) ...or something we haven't even considered yet? _________________ "Some say the valley has always been haunted ever since River ran.

I think this goes back to the concept of forcing a modern frame of reference on events far removed from us in time. It easy for us to misinterpret events, especially when we have a certain end-game in mind. That is, if you go looking for UFO incidents in the Bible, you will certainly find them.
Still, assuming that these Bible stories do in fact depict real events - what is the proper interpretation? Something unusual happened but what?
