We've talked several times about how popular culture might have helped precipitate some UFO experiences. One example that you hear periodically is that Betty and Barney Hill's hypnotic regression sessions might have been influenced by an episode of The Outer Limits called "The Bellero Shield." Specifically, they say that the aliens in the TV show are very similar to those aliens with wraparound eyes described by the Hills.

Here is Part One of the episode:

If you get hooked and want to see the entire episode, you can go here for the other parts:

Not sure if I buy the connection to the Hill case or not. I still think the 50's scifi movie Killers From Space has more uncomfortable resemblances to the Hill case.

Ah....I loved the original Outer Limits. Never missed an episode.
I'm not sure why they use that example all the time for the Hill case when there were many sci-fi films out already at that time that had similar alien themes.
I think this was mentioned in the new bio on her by Friedman.

It is amazing to go back and see how many familiar faces you see in these old anthology programs. Martin Landau and Sally Kellerman were in this particular episode (as was the guy who played Commissioner Gordon in the original Batman TV series).

Skeptical, did you ever get a chance to see the original Betty and Barney Hill movie,it was called The UFO Incident and man was it good,it was in black and white and Betty Hill was played by Estell Parson Barney was played by James Earl Jones. My husbands mother called from California and it was the first time ever in our married life that he told me to tell her he would call her back, thats how compelling this was. We sat and watched that movie and I dont think I even moved during commercials,I keep waiting for the SciFi Channel to re-run that during one of their marathons but I havent seen it in years. What a good good show that was.

The name of the movie is The UFO Incident. It was made in 1975 as a made-for-TV movie and co-starred James Earl Jones as Barney Hill. The entire movie is on youtube but it is dubbed into French for some unknown reason. It is available as a bittorrent however so you could download it.

I got the heads-up on Ted's appearance but, as usual, I was too busy watching the backs of my eyelids (I was asleep!). Carol - here's the C2C page for the program - any idea what hour he was in?

Oh heck - I see now you have to be a subscriber to get the replay, don't you?
