Something happened that those men witnessed.....but was it space aliens buzzing military bases or some other phenomenon?

isnt the simple answer usually the real answer,it was aliens from another planet, pure and simple.Keep thinking along those lines and the rest of it really does fall into place. The government doesnt want to open this Pandoras box because the repercussions will go on and on. Ive got this figured out now,so for a quarter and a self addressed envelope..

Laughing
carol, I'm not sure you know the difference from your left and right hand.

Nothing is known...period. Anyone who says they are sure it's space aliens is believing on faith, just like religion.

I do so know my left hand from my right, cause I write with my right. So there. Razz

I can only go by common sense, and common sense tells me that in our universe we are not alone, one day were going to wish to heck we were alone but were not.

The ufo enigma is neither common nor sensible.

Geez, does Bob Salas have a real job or does he just milk a living out of his Malmstrom story?

If Bob Salas is telling the truth then hes telling you why the government will never willingly disclose all they have gathered concerning ufos. Just think of it,if UFOs and there occupants can shut down our missel defense system at will then youve got a wee bit of a problem on your hands. What do you do? Nothing. What can you do? You can let the little buggers go about their plan and hope for the best. Now why would a ufos or group of ufos go thru the bother that they did at Malstrom,to send a clear concise message, there going to do what they came here to do and we best not try to stop them.We couldnt if we wanted to,unless theve come up with something that there not telling us.Imagine that. Cool

If any of the alleged Malmstrom witnesses actually saw a UFO, I might be more impressed, Carol. As it was, both of these men were told UFOs were involved in the shutdown but neither men actually saw them. Where are the first-hand witnesses? After 40 years, you'd think one of them would come forward.

I've mentioned before that a military policeman was allegedly injured in some way when a UFO was hovering over a guard shack there at Malmstrom. Where is that guy or his comrades or the people who treated him at the hospital? We really need to have someone step forward who actually saw something.

well then if we want to go that route where are the men that walked shoulder to shoulder to pick up the debris from that um weather balloon at roswell? Why havent any of them come forward to tell their stories,we know they had men gathering every last bit of that 'balloon' yet none of them have ever said a word about it,dont forget, this was right after the big war, loose lips sink ships and all that sort of thing was taken very very seriously.Where are all the commerical and military pilots that have had ufo encounters? There there allright but they dont come forward with there stories,if the truth be told Im betting that dispite all the stories out there its only the tip of the iceberg, most stories are never shared with the public.

Fighting some thread drift here, I found this today. I'll give Doc Wu first chance at review and I am guessing the ET Hyp people are going to take this and run with it. LOL

Guess I'll order the book too.

Big Brain: The Origins and Future of Human Intelligence by Gary Lynch and Richard Granger (Palgrave Macmillan, $26.95)

“Sometimes I think my head is so big because it is so full of dreams,” says John Merrick in the play The Elephant Man. He might have been speaking for the Boskops, an almost forgotten group of early humans who lived in southern Africa between 30,000 and 10,000 years ago. Judging from fossil remains, scientists say the Boskops were similar to modern humans but had small, childlike faces and huge melon heads that held brains about 30 percent larger than our own.

That’s what fascinates psychiatrist Gary Lynch and cognitive scientist Richard Granger. “Just as we’re smarter than apes, they were probably smarter than us,” they speculate. More insightful and self-reflective than modern humans, with fantastic memories and a penchant for dreaming, the Boskops may have had “an internal mental life literally beyond anything we can imagine.” Lynch and Granger base their characterization on our current understanding of how the human brain works, describing in detail its physiology and structure and comparing it with the brains of other primates. They also explore what the Boskops’ big brains tell us about evolution (why didn’t they survive?) and about the future of human intelligence (can we engineer bigger brains?). These are questions, one suspects, that even the smallest-brained Boskop would have approved of.

The fate of this tribe may show that higher intelligence does not automatically equates to a better chance of survival.

There was a recent study that noted, when two highly intelligent people reproduce, there is actually a higher chance of autism in the resulting child. It would seem that intelligence is important up to a point -- but may be counter-productive after a certain threshold is passed.

Your sooooo right. we are bent in thinking this.

"SP" is probably a better term to use for a species. Survival Potential. Evolution is good to a point. It gets all screwed up though when be fruitful and multiply enters the equation. That's why I think "War" is an evolutionary evolved balance to the process of survival. No human in their right mind accepts the thought but, it keeps the population in check the same way as disease. When a predator reaches the top the only challenge remaining is to hunt and kill his own for what ever reasons. So the solution to that is technology. We are on an upward spiral to make ourselves "happy" content and tranquil with technology in all areas and rid ourselves of predation instinct. It's going to be a long process. A balance will be achieved between muscle, intellect, and contentment.

But what is the point? We know enough now that none of this will matter on the scale of the cosmos. The only safe place will be in a dream. A tiny point of light on a black sheet that spans the multiverse.

' scientists say the Boskops were similar to modern humans but had small, childlike faces and huge melon heads that held brains about 30 percent larger than our own. '

which makes me remember,Will do you recall in years past that scientist said that mankind only used about 10% of his brain,I always thought that was an odd thing to say. To think weve come this far only using 10% of the brain, then why hasnt the brain decreased in size, whats with a brain being 90% bigger than it actually has to in order for a species to survive.

Im watching a show that comes on periodically on aniaml planet, its about a man in africa that saves chimps,he brings them to his home in africa and rehibilitates them to be returned to the wild. I remember thinking how close they seem to man.Um,until I watched a few more episodes. There truely wild animals. They can strike poses that make you think of them as our nearest wild relative but the similarity quickly ends there. There society if you want to call it that is so complex even with the man that runs the project explaining the various behaivors its hard to see how man is related to these animals. There violent, they scream at one another, hit one another and the guys are the bosses...oh ,um cough..

The 10% ratio has been proved a fallacy with the advent of the fMRI and PET scans.

Snopes;

http://www.snopes.com/science/stats/10percent.asp

Mans brain is approximately 3 times as massive as a chimps. What makes us human and them distant cousins is not the brain however. It is simply the ratio of like DNA. And we share some portion of DNA with all animal species. So in effect - go back to the Native American way of thinking and just figure all creatures are our cousins and treat them with due respect. If it was simply a question of brain mass - Whales, Dolphins and even Pachyderms, would be rulers of the planet. We are "sequenced" very differently. I suspect we will find that true with any extraterrestrial we might encounter too, even if they have the same DNA that we do.
