Well looks like Carol's oft-maligned stealth blimp may soon be seeing duty along the US-Mexican border. A contract has been let by the US government to build a 24/7 radar network to monitor the border and those radar units will be installed in these little babies:
To be perfectly accurate, these lighter-than-air craft are not blimps but aerostats - meaning they are tethered in place. Here's a link to a story on the new system:

lol well now the govt. will have a new cover up excuse for ufo sightings!!!

Neat image, and the first I'd heard of the plan. One thing, though. If these are going to be active radar sources, they're
going to be anything but 'stealthy'. ( No offense, Ms. Nistri. )
