Well, despite some rocky episodes, Department 47 has survived its first year of existence. It was on June 13th, 2007 that we brought up this website and, from those very humble beginnings, we have grown to 135 members and 12 thousand posts.
We have certainly not been perfect over this first 12 months - but we have done our level best to provide a good environment for our community to discuss the many, varied subjects of interest to us. We have lost a few friends along the way, but we sincerely wish them well and, in most cases, look forward to their return.
So happy anniversary to you because, after all, Department 47 wouldn't exist without you. Here's to many more years of searching for truth and understanding!

congrats for this atmospheric forum. I find it quiet phenomenal - say at least very remarkable - that a strong circle of members sticks together on an Internet-forum for so many years already.

Thanks Skep for the email about the one year anniversary of Dept. 47!!
I had a look around and see that there are some new posters here...that's good.
I just wanted to say Happy one year Anniversary!!!
I have missed some of you very much...and others I have not missed at all lol!!
I think I will try to become an active member again and see how it goes this time.
Perhaps I will just be more selective with the topics this time around.
Skep....again...congrats and best wishes for year number two!!

Hey Scam ,
so glad to see you back here. I've just thought to send you an e-mail and talk a little ... Coincidence? I've been lazy at the board recently. The weather was too good and too hot here for the last few weeks to go online. Today we were having the first rain for some weeks. The landscape had reminded on a steppe alrady. It's not that I couldn't stand warm weather, but when I watch the nature going down in spring .....
