| Sounds like most of the other shows dealing with this subject. You have to realize, that any show thats going to cover it, is going to have to include a few loons, if only so everyone knows why they are sometimes associated with ufology. Doesnt hurt that the outrageous often helps ratings more than simple fact.

No, they don't have to include the loons. That's an insult to the audience.
I've made 5 films related to the UFO phenomenon - 4 for networks, one straight to DVD. There were people in them that I might disagree with, but no loons. Ever.
Saying you need to include the loons in a UFO film is like saying you need to include Holocaust deniers in a film about the Holocaust. It's ridiculous.
No offense meant to you personally, Paul, but you're wrong this time.
All of which is to say that when you see a show that does include loons, you should be extra critical of it, because they could have done it another way, and better - unless of course the doc is about the sociology of ufology, which is a separate subject from the UFO phenomenon, just as the sociology of Holocaust denial is a separate subect from the Holocaust itself.

| and yet Paul I never got the impression that either one of the guys interviewed was mentally unstable quite the opposite as a matter of fact. They wernt outrageous or ranting they came across quite well, thats why it was all the more puzzling why Birnes had to come out and say what he did about one of them being a hybrid,it was so unexpected.

| All depends on context. How they are presented.

BTW, I saw that episode again and he did make a statement about the man being a possible alien hybrid. IMO that's way over the top based on the little evidence presented.
I saw the Stepehnville show last night and though it was interesting . Apparently ufo sightings have been going on for years in that area. _________________ "Some say the valley has always been haunted ever since River ran.

| Dr.Wu,do they still think that object was a Black Tri or a garden variety ufo? And whats with the title Texas Invasion, cripes I know these guys are trying there best to put together an interesting show but Birnes keeps sticking his neck out like he does and the show is going to be laughed out of town.I cant say I dont share his wanting to cut to the chase on this subject and the going is painfully slow. But hes got a duty to his audience not to come out and make statements like he does as if he has zero doubts.

Carol,
From what I could gather many types of ufos have been seen in the area over time; eg, cigar ufos, round craft, tris, blobs of light, etc. According to several people interviewed there has been paranormal and ufo activity for years in the various areas around there.
What i found fascinating was the lady who lived in the area who had a night camera set up in her back yard to catch deer and after looking at it the next day she had a beam of light coming to the ground from the sky as well as a sphere of light in several frames of the film. What could have casued the beam? It clearly was shining straight down on her back yard. _________________ "Some say the valley has always been haunted ever since River ran.

You know Dr.Wu you just hit on something thats oddly missing in ufo discussions, that beam of light..the military men saw that beam of light after it shot down in front of them in Rendhlsham forest.Walton told of a beam of light that hit him in the chest just before he was lifted off the ground and into that ufo. Beams of light coming out of ufos are often spoken of yet never discussed. I think of search light but what are they looking for? That same beam of light can be used as a weapon,or to subdue someone. Im going looking for an article on this but that beam of light is mentioned so often its now taken for granted but talk about multi-tasking.Let me see what I can find.
Theres lots of articles on this subject.

this one is peppered with stories of beams of light.

The beam of light was clearly visible on her camera shots. It impressed the hell out of me. Could she have faked it..? I suppose but she wasn't even filming ufos and there were deer there in the pics. I think she woul;d have scared them off if she was fooling around in her yard trying to ake beams of light. I think it was the real deal...but was it alien ufos or one of ours? _________________ "Some say the valley has always been haunted ever since River ran.

I'm going to watch it again...just to see that beam of light in her back yard. It was very bizarre. _________________ "Some say the valley has always been haunted ever since River ran.

I agree: that particular segment was extremely interesting. Very strange. . . ours, or "theirs" who can say. But in either case, very odd. _________________ Visit the OrangeOrb
