Yes, we all have our own beliefs.

How I looked at religion, mainly Christianity is this:

If God is benevolent as christians claim, then why did he destroy Sodom and Gomorrha? Yes he gave his reason, and it sounded like a bad place to be, but to destroy it? That doesn't sound benevolent to me. And the same goes for Moses and the Exodus. God caused the ten plagues in order to convince the Pharaoh to let Moses's people go, which included one causing the deaths of all the first born in Egyptian families. No benevolence there I think.

And God is supposed to be all knowing. Then why did he force Abraham to Sacrfice his son Ishmael to prove his faith? Yes he stopped Abraham at the last moment, but why make him do it in the first place? God is all knowing..........isn't he?

And don't get me started on wars. A lot of wars are started by religion, or religious beliefs.

And we are supposed to believe written text as proof of the existence of a God or gods. Text written 100's and thousands of years ago. With UFO's, there are witnesses every day, with religion, there are the words of people long dead.

So as Paul said, atheism is a belief. To me, it's a belief that no god exists. If a god could prove his existence to me other than ancient texts, or what the church says, then I would be one of the first to kneel and pray. He apparently proved his existence thousands of years ago to Abraham, Moses, and through Jesus, so with more and more people leaving the faith, now would be a good time to get the people to believe again.

Scam,
Skeptical will have to move it. Mods can only moderate their own forums.

No. It would have to be something major. Any man can claim to be God, and as we know, some have. All those miracles he performed then, but none for around 2000 years. The parting of the waves for moses, the healing of the leper colony when Jesus died, etc...

There is so much suffering in the world, he could make us all sit up and take notice if say he stopped famine, or aids. Or remove pollution. The list goes on that he could do for this world.

I dont know Hopo, for me God is a soft feeling that comes over me.We all wonder why he doesnt interfer, but then we wouldnt be us would we,that is everything from that point on we would want God to take care of. Maybe Hes trying to teach man something, those things that can be controlled by man should be.
