I remember reading Mysterious America many years ago by Coleman and I saw him on one of the cable shows a whle back talking about bigfoot, etc. _________________ "Some say the valley has always been haunted ever since River ran.

LOL. That's something that we don't have to worry about in the UK. The scariest place to be animal wise, is on Dartmoor, or Exmoor, the supposed home of " The Beast ", a big black cat that could be a Puma, or a Panther. Even my dad has seen signs of some big carnivore when he came across the carcass of a half eaten sheep. And no, we don't have big wild dogs, and a fox is too small unless the sheep died before being eaten. Still, when I go to Dartmoor, I am always aware of what might be over the next hill, so I always feel better when I'm carrying my hiking stick.

Hopo - Do you remember the story of the giant centipede found in that London apartment?

I don't know about you but I think I'd rather take my chances with a gator.

| Hopo, have they ever shown a program in the UK about black cats of England? I dont remember the name of it but there was a time in your country in the not to distant past where a law was passed about owning exotic animals, rather than to turn them over to overcrowded zoos it was therorized that many pet owners turned their big cats loose on the english countryside. It was a mesmerizing hour and Ill never forget the footage of what was clearly a big black cat a panther it looked like walking along side a stone wall, then they interviewed farmers in the area that came face to face with big cats, did anyone see this show?

I have seen several Tv programs about black cats over the years. Yes I know about the law change and the theory that owners released those cats. It's entirely possible IMO. I just hope that if I see the Beast, that I am in my car, or at least a mile away!
Skep, all I can say is that if I found THAT in my home, I'd cover it with a large plastic bowl and call in the experts! No way would I go near that!
