Hello All and a special hello to Dr. Wu, as he mentioned this site elsewhere. I have enjoyed reading some of the threads and I always like a healthy, intelligent debate. This seems like such a community.

I am 44, soon to be 45, and have been interested in the paranormal as long as I can remember. The interest was sparked by my experiences and I believe a certain predilection on my part. Lately I have sought balance within my self and life as most of my close friends, family and husband have not had the same kind of experiences that I have and are not by their natures, predisposed to questioning as I am.

I am not meaning to sound woeful or judgemental there because as by either dumb luck or providence, I also have others in my life who have assisted me in asking the right questions to set things straight for myself. As part of this process I have learned to keep an open mind and heart, but remain wary of answers that just "feel good". I hold the belief when seeking the truth some truths are less than savory, but palatability is not a good indicator of validity.

I enjoy learning and listening. I am aware I can always be wrong so I try not to be too adamant in discussions. That is me in a nutshell and that is an intended pun because I am a bit nutty and I like to poke fun at myself lest I begin to take myself too seriously and start believing my own PR.

Let me be the first to welcome you to Department 47! We are a diverse group, encompassing a wide array of opinions but I think we are very respectful of each others thoughts and life experiences. We all have lots of questions and not many answers but we are always looking for more companions on this journey.

Make yourself at home and I look forward to reading your insights!

Welcome to the board Kat.....
I think I mentioned this place over at the Thoth board where you post. Hope you have some really good discussions here and btw..I'm not nearly as skeptical as I sound.
