I remember back in the late 1980s when the concept of cold fusion was first presented to the world. I remember saying to my wife, "If it's real, this changes everything." The idea of almost limitless, clean energy would indeed have changed the entire equation of life on Earth and would have perhaps prevented much of the unpleasantness we are now experiencing.
Well, it seems there are those we still think that cold fusion is possible and have actually refined those original ideas into experiments that are fairly easy to replicate:

Now, if this would just lead to something beyond the current parlor tricks, we could get back to renewing the face of the earth.
