Folks -
I just want to thank all of you for bearing with the trouble Department 47 has experienced this past week. I don't know that we are completely through it yet, but it seems to be improving. As noted, I am looking into hosting alternatives. I've got a place in mind if I can get the current host to OK the transfer.
Without getting maudlin about it, I have come to value all of you all as friends and I am trying very hard not to let you down. When this place is having problems, it bothers me more than you could possibly know. But even though there have been bumps, I want to move carefully so as not to end up in a worse spot than we are now.
Thanks again and please let me know if you have questions.

Skeptical,
I can believe the board trouble bothers you the most. Are you saying you could maybe move over the compete board to some other server without having to build up a new board?

That would be my intent. However, there are only a couple of places where the current hosts will move the board for free. Otherwise, there is a $45 charge to move it, plus whatever other cost we would have in paying for the new hosting service itself.
It is very difficult to decide whether to use the web hosts where we could move for free - I am not sure how reliable they are either! People may think I am dragging my feet on this but it is not an easy decision - especially when we are committing a non-commercial site to a permanent, ongoing yearly expense.
All I can do is ask for your patience while I figure out our best path. Even though I am an IT guy, a lot of this is uncharted territory for me.
